Clobber Jiu Jitsu Code of Conduct
1. Zero Tolerance Policy on Violence
Any form of violence, bullying, intimidation, or harassment—verbal, physical, or online—will not be tolerated. Students must train in control at all times. Reckless behavior, intentionally injuring partners, or using excessive force will result in immediate suspension or expulsion. Disputes or issues between members must be brought to an instructor or staff member privately—never handled physically or confrontationally.
2. Cleanliness & Hygiene
Maintaining a clean environment is essential for everyone’s health and safety. Mats and equipment must be kept clean. All students are expected to wear a clean gi or rashguard every class. Personal hygiene is mandatory: trimmed nails, clean body, and no open wounds on the mats. Shoes are never allowed on the mats. Flip-flops or sandals must be worn when off the mat and in restrooms or locker rooms. If you are sick, contagious, or have a skin infection, you may not train until cleared by a doctor.
3. Respect and Conduct
Respect your instructors, teammates, and the academy at all times. Follow instructor directions immediately and without argument during class. Leave ego at the door—we’re here to learn, not to win every roll.
4. Parents & Spectators
To maintain safety, privacy, and class structure: Parents and guardians are not permitted in the locker rooms or on the mats during class unless specifically invited by an instructor. Please observe quietly from designated viewing areas and avoid coaching or interrupting class. Any questions or concerns should be directed to the instructor before or after class, not during.
5. No Video or Unauthorized Recording
Video recording, photography, or live streaming during classes, private lessons, or sparring sessions is strictly prohibited without instructor permission. This protects the privacy, safety, and intellectual property of our students and instructors.
6. Attendance & Punctuality
Students should arrive on time and prepared for class. If you arrive late, wait at the edge of the mat until acknowledged by the instructor before joining.
Consistent attendance and proper attitude are essential for promotion and participation in competitions.
7. Membership & Safety
All members must have a valid waiver and emergency contact form on file. Notify the instructor of any injuries or health issues before training. The academy reserves the right to refuse service or terminate membership for conduct violations or safety concerns.
8. Equipment & Uniforms
Only academy-approved uniforms and patches are allowed during official classes and team events. Keep your belt tied and uniform neat at all times.
Students must bring their own water bottles and personal gear (mouthguard, tape, etc.).
9. Integrity & Sportsmanship
Represent the academy with honor and respect in all competitions and public interactions. Celebrate others’ successes and support your teammates—we win and lose together. Never engage in online arguments, insults, or negativity toward other academies or students.
10. Enforcement
Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in: verbal warning, temporary suspension, or permanent removal from the academy. All disciplinary actions are at the discretion of the head instructor and staff.
